Nychair
Nychair X is a folding lounge chair designed in 1970 by Takeshi Nii, continuously made in Japan. The simple yet elegant design, combined with comfort, versatility, and repairability, made Nychair X a chair loved by generations. Thanks to its light weight and foldability, it can be easily moved between rooms and does not take much space when folded, making it a great companion for contemporary multifunctional living spaces. Maintenance can be performed at home, and different parts can be replaced, so the chair can be enjoyed for many years. Awarded with Long Life Design and Good Design awards.
Nychair X 80 was created in 1980, 10 years after the launch of the original Nychair X. It was developed to meet the changing needs of the times, as people moved from a low-seated living environment with tatami mats, to a more Western lifestyle with chairs.
The innovative method of folding the chair by turning both ends of the backrest inwards was invented for Nychair X 80. The chair is even lighter than Nychair X and weighs 6 kg. When folded, it remains upright and its compact size allows to save space and reduces the environmental impact in transport. The chair comes already assembled and can be used straight out of the box.
